Awarded a contract for the EPC construction of N.2 132 kV substations in Italy
STE ENERGY Srl has been awarded a contract for the EPC construction of N.2 132 kV substations in Italy with an international major energy operator. The substations will allow the connection of 2 BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) plants for a total of 50 MVA capacity.
STE Energy – as leader of a partnership (JV) with ESI S.p.A. – will be in charge of the whole substation engineering (covering electrical, automation and civil design), the supply of all electromechanical equipment and commissioning.
“This achievement further confirms STE Energy’s commitment in supporting the development of such a “booming” market like the Italian RES one. The integration with renewable power plants of batteries and storage systems – including hydrogen systems – has been a key driver of STE Energy’s industrial strategy during the last few years. STE Energy, operating in more than 30 countries worldwide, is supporting the decarbonization process. Italy will soon solve the last procedural issues blocking a real deployment of the many planned RES projects, heading towards an actual green energy transition.”
Stefano Scarpa, President of STE Energy
“This contract is a confirmation of STE Energy’s engineering and construction capabilities in high-voltage electrical infrastructures. Our 26-year experience of EPC contracting in the RES sector allows us to be acknowledged and awarded as a qualified contractor for high-complexity projects like these two substations, meant to serve the connection of battery storage plants.”
Fabio Pasut, CEO of STE Energy
