The commissioning of a new small hydro power plant on the Nera river has been completed. The plant uses the ecological flow of an existing dam in Terni, thanks to the installation of an innovative siphon turbine that exploits the available head of approximately 6 meters.

New VLH turbine (vlh-turbine.com) to produce energy from a river in northern Italy. STE Energy has just signed a new contract for the construction of a new hydropower plant with a VLH turbine of over 300kW. The plant will be commissioned by the end of this year.
The VLH will be equipped with the innovative power channel sediment trap system, installed on the bottom of the machine. VLH: always one step ahead!

STE Energy reaches another important milestone in Operation & Maintenance in Sardinia, signing two more O&M service contracts for the management of two additional hydro power plants.

The controlled installed power arises up to about 75MW and, thanks to the new remote control center, STE Energy will provide its innovative services, focusing on the efficiency and performance maximization of these important hydro plants with dams.

Machine learning algorithms, combined with meteorological and inflow forecasts, will be applied in the management of these projects, aiming at optimal dispatch plan and generating added value for the client.

In January 2021, the Rio Escondido digital high voltage substation – located in Chile – was energized. STE Energy operated as EPC contractor in the construction of this important electrical infrastructure. A contract for the design and supply of the electrical protection system for a Phase Shifting Transformer to be installed on the border among Germany, Luxembourg and France has been signed. This special transformer will increase the controllability of the active power flow, improving the exploitation of the existing electricity infrastructure and avoiding overload outages in such an important node of the European interconnected transmission system.

A contract for EBOP and MBOP supplies for a new hydroelectric plant under construction in Ivory Cost has been signed. STE Energy will develop its own services and supplies for the construction of a new Dam and Hydro Power Station to generate 44MW new green power, the site it is at approximately 150km from Abidjan, the largest city and former capital city of Ivory Cost

The new remote control center for the management of a group of hydropower plants of about 50 MW located in the southern part of Sardinia was officially opened in the presence of the General Manager of ENAS (Ente Acque della Sardegna) Eng. Maurizio Cittadini and our CEO Eng. Fabio Pasut.
